Roof Collapse Shuts Down Fourth Avenue

Already hopeless traffic conditions grew even worse this afternoon when the roof of a parking garage on Fourth Avenue partially collapsed, shutting down the avenue from Atlantic Avenue to Eighth Street.

No one was injured in the collapse of the one story structure at Fourth Avenue and Second Street.

The roof collapsed from the weight of the snow according to the 78 pct. in Park Slope.

The fire department responded to the call just before 1 p.m.

Traffic delays continue to persist on streets surrounding Fourth Avenue.
