As A Photographer: Actor Head Shots

It is a necessity for an actor to have professional head shots.  They are a tool they use to submit for work.  It’s part of the resume and often has just as much bearing on whether or not they’ll be called in for an audition.  In my opinion, the shots should look like the actor puts effort into their professional presentation because, in the end, on either side of the casting desk, it’s a business.

My goal is to capture the essence of the person.  I work to record that elusively defined chemistry that draws us in to watching actors, with an image quality that say “Professional Actor.”

I’ve been friendly with Paden Fallis for about 8 years.  We seem to orbit each others’ worlds.  I was in the front row of the first production of his one-man show “The Play About The Coach” and was very impressed, so when he came to me for head shots, I was excited to work together.  I knew I could capture his depth.

His goal was to have a variety of photos for “legit” (theater and film) work as well as commercial work.  He trusted me to put himself in my hands.  Here are just a few of the shots we got.  I hope you like them.  As always, click on for larger views.
