Sylvie Morgan Flatow grew up on Sackett Street, attending PS 29, eating slices at Sal's, and playing in Carroll Park. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and currently works in children's film and television programming and development for Scholastic. Her column "Behind Old Doors" started out as a series of articles for neighborhood blog The Carroll Gardens Diary.
