The Mary McDowell Center for Learning is a school for children with learning disabilities. Using Quaker teaching techniques, the school's philosophy is every student can learn with respect and responsibility. The center was founded in 1984 and now has three specific school divisions: lower, elementary and middle. An upper school for grades 9 and 10 will open in Brooklyn Heights in September, 2011.
