Tree Lighting, Holiday Fairs and More This Weekend

What's happening this weekend in and around Carroll Gardens.

- Carroll Gardens Association, Inc. hosts the 7th Annual Columbia Waterfront District Tree Lighting on Friday, 6 p.m. at the Human Compass Garden at the intersection of Columbia Street and Sackett Street in the Columbia Waterfront District of Brooklyn.

Bumble-Bees-R-Us on Lorraine Street opens it's doors for personalized items, cosmetics, food and clothes Sunday at 4 p.m.

- The Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra will present a program of 20th century works including a world premiere by Brooklyn composer Ian Ng  "How Fair Thou Dost Shine" Sunday. Admission to the concert at the door is $20 or online for $18. Children are free. Seniors and Brooklyn Museum members cost $10.

- For the first time the American Fine Craft Show Brooklynwill fill the Brooklyn Museum 90 exhibits of handmade fine crafts and art for sale. Eleven Brooklyn artisans and artists will participate in the landmark Brooklyn Museum Beaux-Arts Court on Saturday and Sunday.

- The Queen of All Saints Church Hand Bell Choir presents Music for the Advent/Christmas Season on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. 

- The Brooklyn Philharmonia Chorus presents its 2013 Winter Concert, featuring Handel's "Messiah" and other holiday favorites, including Christmas carols and Hanukkah songs Sunday, 7:30 p.m. at St. Augustine Church.
