Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and More This Week

What you need to know this week in and around Carroll Gardens.

1. Look for a bit of a wet week with temperatures above freezing early on. It gets colder come Thursday with temperatures maxing out in the 30s.

2. This week is loaded with Thanksgiving Thursday, the beginning of Hanukkah on Wednesday and the start of the holiday shopping season on Black Friday. Don't miss our Brooklyn big box shopping guide for Black Friday, and be on the lookout for local deals later in the week. 

3. Mondays are Lobster Roll Nights at Kittery of Brooklyn. Get a lobster roll with all the trimmings, a draft beer, glass of house wine or soft drink and dessert for $25.

4. Monday morning Fairway Market and Assemblywoman Joan Millman teamed up to donate 70 turkeys to local organizations, including: Eileen Dugan Senior Center, Carroll Gardens Association, Prospect Park YMCA and more.

5. 5.  Prospect Park Track Club will hold its annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 28. The event is sponsored by JackRabbit Sports, supported by New York Methodist Hospital, and organized in partnership with the track teams of Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School. The starting gun sounds at 9 a.m.
