What's happening in and around Carroll Gardens this week.

A quick look at what's happening this week in and around Carroll Gardens.

1. It's Election Day Tuesday, and a new mayor will be elected for the first time in over a decade. Carroll Gardens voters can find all the information they need in our Voters Guide.

2. Alternate site parking is suspended on Election Day Tuesday. It is in effect all other days during the week.

3. Award winning writer James Salter (The Hunters, Dusk and Other Stories, All That Is) will read from his books and answer questions from the audience as the latest speaker for St. Francis College’s Walt Whitman Writers Series Nov. 6 at 5p.m. in the College’s Maroney Forum for Arts, Culture and Education.

4. Rabbi David L. Kline and Msgr. Guy Massie's series of five programs to introduce Judaism to Christians concludes on Nov. 7 at Sacred Hearts & St. Stephen Church.

5. The Senior Wellness Program at the Carroll Gardens Branch conducts senior savvy exercise classes every Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library auditorium.
