Growing Up in Brooklyn

I was born and raised in Brooklyn and loved every minute of it.  We moved to New Jersey in 1999 but a piece of our hearts are still in Brooklyn.  Brooklyn is home.

I loved living in Brooklyn because of the neighborhood amenities. The world was our oyster.  As kids we hit the streets and could travel anywhere by foot, bus, or train.  Everyone knew everyone else and we had everything we needed close by at all times of the day and night.

By contrast Monmouth County is of course more geared to developments rather than neighborhoods, you have to drive more often to get to stores and while public transportation is available in many areas it requires a car ride to get to.  But the benefits really outweigh some inconveniences.  What I hated about living in Brooklyn was the filth, graffiti, lack of parking spaces, high cost of living and the noise.

Living in Howell, NJ is great.  It is like constantly being on vacation, or at least that's how I feel.  When we first moved here there was nothing here.  Over the years the town has grown, shopping is phenomenal, entertainment venues are fantastic, dining is great and best of all I don't have to search for parking spaces for hours on end.  We had a house that was barely 1,100 square feet.  We now have room to roam in a modest 4 bedroom of about 2,100 square feet with an oasis of a backyard which backs to woods.  The occasional visits by deer, rabbits, hawks, eagles, egrets, bats, a variety of humming birds, blue jays, cardinals and other cute little animals is so endearing.  I put in a beautiful Koi pond with a waterfall that is so relaxing to sit by with a cocktail especially on warm summer afternoons after a swim in the pool.  It is an ideal environment to raise a family.

I am a REALTOR with Exit Prestige Realty in Freehold.  If you are tired of noise and congestion.  If you yearn to relax near a roaring fire in the winter and commune with nature in the spring, summer and fall then consider a move to Monmouth County.  If you enjoy outdoor activities we have nature trails and biking trails at the Manasquan Reservoir, Brick Reservoir and many parks with dog runs.  The close proximity to the Jersey Shore is also a major plus.  The schools are safe and highly rated.  So if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle.  Email me, I will be happy to provide you with information on moving to Monmouth or Ocean Counties or for excellent income producing properties.  sellfast@edwardmonti.com
