NYC Beaches Open for the Summer Saturday!

Brighton Beach, Coney Island and more are back.

This article was written by Amy Sara Clark.

True it's supposed to rain, but it's still good to know that all NYC beaches officially open on May 25.

The city's Parks Department's 14 miles of beach, including Brighton Beach and Coney Island, will be open daily from 10 a.m. To 6 p.m. through Labor Day weekend.

For those of us on the Q/B line, Brighton Beach can be reached in about 20 minutes by subway. While you're there pick up some very cheap fruit and try one of the zillion Russian restaurants.

It's also an easy bike ride, nearly all of which is in protected bike lanes. See my directions here
