Heat Wave Relief in Gowanus Sprinklers and Pool

Take a break from baking on the sidewalk to dip in the Double D.

Brooklynites were out in full force Tuesday afternoon at a Third Avenue playground, making the best of the heat wave that is plaguing the city.

At the Thomas Greene Playground at Douglass Street and Third Avenue, children bounced from one water sprinkler to another while parents took cover in the nearby shade.

Down the block, the Douglass DeGraw Pool was packed from end to end with swimmers and sunbathers of all ages. Outside, a Mr. Softee ice cream truck sat patiently waiting for what was sure to be an onslaught of customers.

How'd you beat the heat today? Head to a pool or grab a cone of soft serve? Let us know in the comments section below!
