2. Burn a Hole in the Dancefloor

There's nothing like a boogie in the late-summer sun. Show off your moves at this Sunday, September 2. Who knows, it could be one of the last chances you'll ever get.

3. Get Your Grill On at the Snap Food Truck Labor Day BBQ

Snap is a new food truck that sells charcoal-grilled, grass-fed burgers, Chicago-style hot dogs and hand-cut fries. Having made a name for itself at a couple of street fairs, the truck will soon be making a home at 100 Sullivan St. in Red Hook on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6pm to 10pm.

The kickoff party is this Monday, September 3, when Snap will host a backyard BBQ featuring music and "other local food and handmade goods from La Newyorkina, Out of My Mind Vintage and more." The festivities will begin at noon and continue until 6 p.m.

4. Beat the Heat with a Flick at Cobble Hill Cinemas

From the epitome of blockbusters (The Bourne Legacy) to indie romcoms (2 Days in New York) and unexpected pleasures that fall somewhere in betwen (Robot & Frank, Celeste and Jesse Forever, 2016: Obama's America), there is something for everyone at this weekend. When you're done, you can slip next door for some chocolate. Sweet.

5. Watch the US Open

Couldn't score tickets? So what. You can still enjoy Roddick's final season in a lively atmosphere at sports bars like , , and more. Love!
