Nets Outlast Mavs, Improve to 9-1 in New Year

Brooklyn nets win seventh straight at Barclays Center.

After a dreadful start to the year and a season-ending injury to star center Brook Lopez, many counted the Brooklyn Nets out.

But since the calendar turned the Nets are an NBA-best 9-1 after outlasting the Dallas Mavericks at the Barclays Center Friday night, 107-106.

Mirza Teletovic led all players with 34 points and was almost unstoppable from three-point range, hitting 7-of-11 threes. The win was their seventh straight in Brooklyn and no team in the league is hotter.
