Marathon Madness. Have You Caught It?
Calling all marathoners! Are you taking part or know someone who is?
It's that time of year again! Whether you're a runner, a sports fan or one of the many New Yorkers who just wants to cheer someone else on, the NYC Marathon is a November highlight.
As always, the marathon passes right through Brooklyn, coming all the way up Fourth Avenue from the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge before turning onto Lafayette Avenue through Fort Greene and down Bedford Avenue through Bedford-Stuyvesant and Williamsburg.
The race begins on Staten Island with the wheelchair division heading out first at 8:30 a.m. The first wave of runners begins at 9:40. Get to Fourth Avenue early to see the wheelchairs and the fast runners, it's the most exciting part! If you get to Fourth Avenue and Union Street by 9:30 a.m. you should be good.
