Kidd Could Get Three-Year Offer from Nets: Report

Fresh off retirement, former point guard just can't quit the NBA.

Jason Kidd just made a faster move to the basket than he ever demonstrated during his playing days.

Mere days after taking a Monday meeting with Brooklyn Nets brass, former Nets and Knicks point guard Jason Kidd is on the verge of being offered a three-year contract to coach the boys in the Barclays Center, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

While the Nets are keeping their options open for the time being — and still reportedly entertaining the idea of hiring Indiana Pacers assistant coach Brian Shaw — Kidd evidently impressed the right people during his meeting.

The Post reported one source as saying that "the Russians are on board." Which, honestly, is maybe the most badass thing you can say about anybody. It sounds like Kidd is about to start World War III or something.

The point guard has been making headlines for years in New York and New Jersey, both for his time as a player, and for his extra-curricular drunk-driving in the Hamptons, so making him a head coach really feels like the right thing to do, doesn't it?
