Barclays Center Enlists Help From Disney

Future home of the Brooklyn Nets signs deal with the people behind Mickey & Co.

First it was the Brooklyn Nets, . Now the people behind Mickey, Pluto and pals are getting into the Barclays Center mix.

On Monday, the Nets basketball organization announced a partnership with Disney Institute with the aim of having some of the entertainment giant's magic rub off on the .

“Anybody who has visited Walt Disney World recognizes that Disney delivers the preeminent customer experience and that’s what we plan to bring to our guests at Barclays Center,” said Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark.

According to a spokesman, the deal will not mean that Disney logos or characters will be prominent at the completed Barclays Center, however.

"Our goal is to bring the best entertainment value to our customers," said Nets senior vice president of communications Barry Baum. "Disney Institute is clearly the best in the game at that."

In addition to the just-announced Barclays Center deal, Disney Institute has signed partnership arrangements with the Amway Center in Orlando and will be involved in shaping the fan experience at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis come February.

As part of the agreement with Barclays Center, Disney Institute will create a "customized" approach to training stadium staff, as well as consulting on the signage, guest flow and uniforms.
