PS 29 Parents To Rally At Schoolyard

Concerned parents continue to stand off with SCA officials.

Following Thursday night's , Carroll Gardens Patch has received word that a rally is planned to take place at the schoolyard this evening, Friday, April 27 at 5:30 p.m. The SCA stated last night that it would move forward with a planned asbestos abatement this evening as part of its construction schedule.

The lead hygienist overseeing the removal repeatedly stated that the asbestos being removed is non-friable, meaning that, when dry, it cannot be crumbled, pulverized or reduced to powder by hand pressure.

The SCA further stated that no more than two windows will be worked on at any single time during the project and that the windows will be sealed with tape as well as two layers of a poly seal, to prevent any dust from entering the building.
