Open Sky Retreat

This Open Sky retreat integrates the same intensity and dedication of sesshin with the open, formless quality of a hermitage. The purpose is to encourage students to cultivate and bring forth their own inner strength and resolve for practice within the context of a deliberately less-structured retreat.

The intensive starts Thursday evening with supper, after which the sangha gathers in the zendo and the silence begins. For the next two days, the Temple is open day and night. Meals will be provided and received in silence each day. You may choose to stay at the Temple for the duration of the retreat (cots will be available at all times for resting) or sleep at home. The intensive will conclude on Saturday evening with supper and a mondo giving the sangha a chance to share their experiences.
