Alzheimer’s Disease – Navigating Care in Brooklyn

A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease can be devastating.  Families and caregivers have an  immediate need for information - What rights does the patient have?  How can loved ones get the help they need?  Who will pay for care?

To answer these questions for those who need it now – or may need it in the future – the Division of Geriatrics at Downstate Long Island College Hospital under the direction of Concha Mendoza, MD, is sponsoring a free conference on Alzheimer’s Disease, “Navigating Care in Brooklyn.”   The keynote speaker, Judith D. Grimaldi, Esq., an attorney specializing in elder care, will speak about upcoming changes to New York State Medicaid Benefits.  There will be a Q&A with Ms. Grimaldi following her presentation, as well as opportunities for networking and discussion.  Refreshments will be served.  Please see attached flyer.
