Weiner Under Fire From All Sides

After taking lead in poll, Weiner feeling the heat from opponents.

After polling ahead of Christine Quinn last month, Anthony Weiner is now the mayoral candidate with the biggest target on his back.

And New York's political machines are already spinning against him at a bout a thousand RPMs.

Weiner is taking fire from all quarters now — Democrats and Republicans — and no one is pulling their punches, making his lewd indiscretions the centerpiece of campaigns to take him down a few pegs.

One group lobbying against the former congressman debuted their website this week: stopweiner.com, which, miraculously, was previously not registered as an anti- (or pro-) pornography domain.

The site is run by the New York City Parents Union, according to the Daily Politics,  and they are clearly not happy with Weiner's stated plan to eliminate the parent coordinator position from schools.

Calling him "lying, cheating, hypocritical, arrogant and useless," the site ramps up its vitriol in multiple posts per day and frequent use of his now-infamous Twitter pics.

But it's not just the Parents Union, Joe Lhota made the front page of the New York Post Tuesday, urging other women who Weiner may have talked to online to bring their stories to the media.

"I hope [women] will come to the right conclusion after enough women come out and talk about what it was like to be with him and date him and things like that,” Lhota was quoted in the paper.

What do you think? Has Weiner already been tried in the court of public opinion for his sins? Or is this all fair game when running for mayor? Share in the comments. Just don't overshare.
