Miriam Milore, owner of on Washington Avenue, a custom cake design shop, said she’s definitely received more orders from same-sex couples.

“In the last six months we’ve definitely made one (cake) every month, and we’ve also had a bunch of orders for same sex couples for baby showers,” she said.

Rebecca Lovett, general manager and special events coordinator of on Dean Street, a specialty bakery, countered that wedding business has remained the same as prior to the marriage-equality decision.

"We were catering to civil unions and same-sex weddings before it became official," Lovett told Carroll Gardens Patch. "So, I wouldn't say that there has been a huge increase. Yes, we've done same-sex weddings since. But business hasn't doubled or anything like that."
