Post Office Still Not Up to Par, Say Residents
Boerum Hill's Times Plaza Station has made some improvements, but residents are still unhappy with the service and cleanliness.
Despite some improvements, residents are still unhappy with the service and appearance of Boerum Hill’s post office facility, according to a report by the Brooklyn Paper today.
In July, Brooklyn’s postmaster had vowed to improve Times Plaza Station on Atlantic Avenue within 90 days. In September, a new branch manager, Bridget Jordan stepped in, the staff was retrained, and pick-up hours were extended until 3 p.m. on Saturdays, according to the Brooklyn Paper.
Despite the changes, the Brooklyn Paper’s report found many residents who still thought the facility was “dirty,” “crowded,” and that the “service is still horrible.”

At last week’s meeting, the Boerum Hill Association also heard more complaints about the post office, such as “misdirected mail, problems with package deliveries … problems when a regular carrier goes on vacation,” wrote Howard Kolins, president of the BHA in an email.
Kolins also wrote that, on the plus side, new branch manager Jordan “has been seen in the lobby asking customers about what they need to do, which speeds up the line.”
