MTA Brings Subway Map Into Smartphone Age

New format allows users to zoom in to enlarge and easily pull up details for specific lines.

The MTA has released an interactive subway map that allows users to zoom, drag and drop.

The new online map allows riders to enlarge areas to see details without opening the PDF version and drag the map to get to different areas. Users can also click on the subway route symbols at the top of the map to quickly pull up information on individual lines.

“The subway map is one of the most popular tools we provide on our website, and we want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for visitors to the city and New Yorkers alike to get the most out of the map online,” the MTA’s Paul J. Fleuranges, said in a written statement.
