President Barack Obama this weekend said he will let the U.S. congress decide on whether to attack Syria after an alleged chemical weapons attack by Syrian President Bashar Assad that killed hundreds of children and violated international rules of war.
"I know that the country will be stronger if we take this course, and our actions will be even more effective," he said.
For people living in Carroll Gardens, Red Hook and Cobble hill that means Rep. Nydia Velazquez will be responsible for representing their voices in the debate.
Last week, Velazquez was among House members who sent Obama a letter asking that Congress get a chance to “fully debate and consider the facts and every alternative, as well as how best to end the violence and protect civilians.”
Now is the time to tell Velazquez where you stand. Should she vote in favor of the Syria attack? Let us know in the comments.
