Brooklyn Pride Kicks Off This Week

The weeklong series of events celebrates Brooklyn's LGBT communities.

Brooklyn Pride kicked off a weeklong celebration Monday for the borough’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.

On Monday, Borough President raised a rainbow flag at Borough Hall, with Kings County District Attorney Charles Hynes, Brooklyn Pride co-chairs Mickey Heller and Zully Rolan, as well as representatives of the Brooklyn Community Pride Center in attendance.

Groups like Gay Men of African Descent, the Brooklyn AIDS Task Force, Brooklyn Men (K)onnect and Brooklyn College LGBT Students also helped to kick off the week of events.
