UPDATE: Missing Girl Safely Home

Starmeka Copeland, 12, who disappeared Wednesday, is now back home, police said.

 

May 12, 12:05 a.m.: The NYPD has reported that Sarmeka Copeland has returned home.

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the following missing person from within the confines of the . Details are as follows:

Starmeka Copeland is a 12-year-old female. She was last seen in the vicinity of 345 Lafayette Avenue between Classon and Grand Avenues on Wednesday May 9, 2012 at approximately 8:25 p.m.

Copeland is described as approximately 5'5", 110 lbs., with a medium skin complexion and was last seen wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt with an "Aeropostale" logo in white letters, blue jeans and black boots.

Anyone with information in regard to this missing man is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website atWWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
