Woman's Purse Snatched From Porch Railing

Purse Snatch

A 56-year-old woman left her purse hanging from a porch railing on 2nd Place while she walked her dog down the block, cops said. When she returned, the purse and its contents, including 8 credit cards and a U.S. passport, were missing. The incident occured on Tuesday, May 24 around 2 a.m.

Bike Riding Thief Grabs Purse

Just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, a bike-riding thief approached a 33-year-old female on his bike, grabbing her purse and pushing her to the ground, cops said. The victim, who reported injuries to her right side, said the male on the bike approached her quickly as she walked down Carroll Street toward Hicks Street. The thief made off with the purse, a $250 wallet, various bank cards and IDs and am umbrella.

Stolen iPhone and a Punch

A 28-year-old male's iPhone 4 was stolen when he was walking on Union Street toward Bond Street around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, cops said. The victim was approached by four male teenagers, and one said, "What are you looking at?" The victim was cornered, punched in the face with a "clenched fist" and his iPhone 4 was taken, cops said. Two teenagers, age 13 and 19, were later arrested.

Stolen Wallet and a Punch

A 27-year-old male was approached by a group of five males and punched in the ear on Smith Street near President Street on Monday, May 23 around 9:30 p.m., cops said. The teens told the victim to hand over his wallet, and then fled toward Smith Street. The wallet contained $30 and various bank cards and IDs.

Taxi Driver Robbed of $730, Diabetes Meds, Syringe

A 44-year-old male taxi driver parked his cab on President Street between Smith and Hoyt streets and on his walk to his personal car he was robbed, cops said. The man started walking down President Street to his car when he saw 2 males following him. He crossed the street, they followed him. The two thieves came up from behind the victim and one simulated a gun and held it to the back of the victim's head. He was ordered to put his bag on the ground, and the theives made off with it. Inside the bag was a taxi cab driver's license, $730, Insulin and a syringe, a Magelin GPS worth $180, an EZ Pass and a Mazda 2007 remote control.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 31 just before 2 a.m.
