Tornado Watch In Effect for Brooklyn

A tornado may be Brooklyn bound.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for the tristate area, including the borough of Brooklyn. The warning remains in effect until 8 p.m. tonight.

Last fall, a tornado ripped through the borough, causing severe damage to local streets.

New York counties that may be in the path of today's severe weather include Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Nassau, Orange, Putnam, Richmond, Westchester and Rockland counties have also been put on watch.

Check back with Patch for severe weather updates.
