Stolen Christmas Trees and Rock Thrown in Fish Pond

Last Monday night, December 5th, an unknown perpetrator unlocked the gate of a house located on 2nd Place between Smith and Court Streets, belonging to a 79-year-old man. He then took five pre-lit Christmas trees from the ground, totallng $600, and threw a rock in a fish pond, endangering 12 rare Japanese koi fish.


Arrest made for Criminal Trespassing and Drug Possession

A teen was seen inside Gowanus Houses on 195 Hoyt Street on Wednesday morning, December 7th. He didn’t live there, nor did he know anyone living in the building, cops said. The 16-year-old male was arrested for criminal trespassing and possession of marijuana.


Car Theft on Kane Street and Strong Place

A 47-year-old woman parked her white 2000 Honda Civic on the corner of Kane Street and Strong Place on the evening of Monday, December 5th. When she came back on Thursday afternoon, the car was gone, along with an Easy Pass mounted inside. Police searched the area and found no signs of broken glass. They have not yet found the vehicle.

 

Package Stolen with Escape Ladder and Space Heater

A 31-year-old woman had a package delivered to her building on Butler Street between Hoyt and Smith Streets last Thursday, December 8th. The package containined a three-story escape ladder worth $70 and a Lasko Space Heater worth $50. When she came to claim her package it had been removed. The package was last seen outside the building. 

 

Two Thefts at Rite Aid

On Friday, December 9th, a middle-aged woman stole two Gilette Fusion Razors and an Easy Grip Toenail Clipper, totaling $43. She is described as a white female, standing about 5-foot-9, weighing roughly 180 pounds and is about 43 years old, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Later that night, two 45-year-old men were arrested by Dynel Powell for stealing $3,547 worth of merchandise, including 163 women’s watches.
