Savoia Employee's Phone Stolen While Serving Customers

A crook ran off with an iPhone from the Carroll Gardens restaurant this weekend.

A Carroll Gardens restaurant employee was the victim of a mid-shift theft over the weekend, according to police.

Officers of the 76th Precinct stated that an employee at Savoia Restaurant, located at 277 Smith Street, was targeted while working the afternoon of Saturday, March 2.

According to police, the victim placed her cell phone on top of the bar and went to serve other customers drinks elsewhere. When she returned from delivering the beverages, she discovered that her white iPhone 4G had been taken.

A nearby patron attempted to help the victim locate her phone using an app, but was unable to trace it.

The victim is 25 and her phone was worth $550, said police. The investigation is ongoing.
