Police Blotter: Two Gun-Toting Robberies, a Pickpocket and a $700 iTunes Tab

Credit Card Swipe 

A teacher from a Cobble Hill school reported that her credit card was stolen and used on iTunes downloads—to the tune of $700.

The woman, working at the Brooklyn School for Global Studies on Baltic Street, told cops that she lost her credit card inside the cafeteria on July 25. She was notified by the credit card company two days later it was used to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of downloads.

 

Armed Robbery on Hicks Street

A 28-year-old woman was robbed Saturday evening by four men on the corner of Hicks and Summit streets, according to a police report.

The woman was walking near the footbridge over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway when the men approached her at about 6:30 p.m. and demanded cash as one of them brandished a gun.

The woman complied and the unknown men ran off with her cash, credit cards and iPhone.

 

Bus Stop PickPocket

A 69-year-old man had just over $300 stolen from his back pocket as he waited for the bus at the corner of Lorraine and Hicks streets on Sunday.

The man told cops he noticed the missing cash when he became ill and had to be taken to Long Island College Hospital.

Cops said suspected pickpocket is described as a female standing 5-foot-4 and weighing about 110 pounds.

 

Gun-Wielding Teens Rob Women

A trio of young teens robbed a pair of women in Red Hook on Sunday evening.  

The women were walking south on Dwight Street near the corner of Hicks Street when three teens, one of whom was armed, approached from behind and ordered them to give up thier purses. 

"Turn your back," one of the teens, the oldest being 14, yelled at the victims, who said they saw a black firearm.

The women, fearing for their lives, gave up their cell phones and bags with credit cards and passports inside.

The 14-year-old was said to be a black teen, standing 5-foot-9 wearing blue shorts and a white shirt. The others were both described as being black and 13 years old. One suspect stands 5-foot-7 and weighs about 130 pounds, while the other is 5-foot-4 and weighs 140 pounds.
