Credit Card Crook on President Street

A 33-year-old woman's credit card was stolen from her on President Street between Smith and Hoyt Streets last Wednesday, March 7, police said. At some point between 6:30 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. an unknown individual took the card from the victim and proceeded to use it at nearby businesses, such as , and for the purchase of a $50 MTA card. To date no arrests have been made.

Abuelita Burgled on First Place

An elderly woman's home on First Place at the corner of Clinton Street was allegedly entered by an unidentified man over the weekend, who stole her wallet, identification cards and various forms of currency upon being discovered. The victim, 84, told police that on Saturday, March 10 sometime between 6:45 p.m. and 6:55 a.m., she heard her buzzer ring and got out of bed to open the door. Upon opening the door, no one was there. So the woman returned to her bedroom, where she claims she saw an unidentified male standing next to the bed. Once spotted, he immediately took off with the victim's black wallet, two bank cards, hospitalization card, checkbook, Access-A-Ride ID card and $75. 

 

Worker Roughed Up In Front of Grocery

An employeed at the Baltic & Bond Deli & Grocery was assaulted by two men while trying to close the store on Saturday, March 11 around midnight, police said. While trying to bring the gate down in front of the 207 Bond Street storefront at the corner of Baltic Street, the 27-year-old victim was approached from behind by two unknown males, who allegedly took turns punching and beating him, with one reportedly telling him, “I’m going to f___ you up.” The suspects were described as one 6-foot-1 male in a blue track suit and a 6-foot male wearing a multicolored jacket with blue jeans and black sneakers. No arrests have been made, police said.

 

Heartless Vandals on Third Place

Door Company on Third Place between Hoyt and Bond Streets reported that sometime between January 1 and March 6, unknown individuals left graffiti in a shape of a red heart using spray paint on the south side of their building, police said.

 

Lovers' Quarrel Ends in Arrest on Mill Street

A domestic dispute turned violent ended in the arrest of a 19-year-old woman on Wednesday, March 7, police said. At 11:55 p.m. on Mill Street at the Clinton Street intersection, the woman allegedly became enraged during a dispute with her 20-year-old boyfriend, subsequently cutting him on either sides of his face and biting him on the arm and back. The woman was arrested by the 76 Precinct on Thursday, March 8 at appoximately 12:27 a.m. and charged with assault misdemeanor.
