Three Thugs Rough Up Teen, Take Headphones

A teen was robbed of his expensive Dr. Dre Beats headphones ($229) by three thugs on Wednesday, Jan. 16, according to police. While walking by 52 Butler St., at 5 a.m. the victim was approached by three males, two black and one light-skinned, possibly Hispanic individual, when all three surrounded him. One assailant said “Gimme that Beat!”, referring to the victim’s headphones, while another ordered, “Go through his pockets, get the cell.” The police are looking for one black male, 5 foot 10 wearing blue jeans and a sweatshirt, one black male, 5 foot 5 wearing blue jeans, and one light-skinned male, approximately 5 foot 4 and wearing a blue t-shirt.

Student Beat Up By Gang of Eight 

A student was assaulted inside of the School of International Studies, located at 285 Baltic Street, said cops. According to a report filed by the victim’s mother, 34, her 15-year-old son was on his way to class when another student approached him in the hallway and engaged with him. The victim tried to walk away but was pushed to the ground. Then, other teens came up around him—seven boys and one girl—and they all started kicking him, cops said. The mother took her son to a private doctor, where he was treated for physical and emotional trauma. The crime has been filed as an assault. No arrests have yet been made.

Burglar Steals Laptop, Credit Card and Cash

A burglary went down on the 200 block of Degraw St., cops said. On Monday, Jan. 21 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. a resident was in and out of the house several times. While out, the victim realized her Capitol One credit card and $150 in cash were missing. Upon immediately returning home, she also realized that her 17-inch Apple laptop ($1200) was missing from the apartment. A screen door at the rear of the property was unlocked but closed. None of her neighbors heard or saw anything, according to the police report. There were no signs of any forced entry. The victim is female, 40.

Shoplifter Arrested for Stealing Shampoo

Another shoplifter was arrested at Rite Aid on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 12:30 p.m., cops said. A male witness, 42, told police that the individual removed $101 worth of Head & Shoulders from the location without paying for it and when the security guard tried to hold him in custody, he violently resisted, causing damage to store merchandise during the scuffle. Police responded and arrested Gerard Brockington, 37. He was charged with robbery, criminal mischief, stolen property, and providing false information upon arrest.

Man Arrested for Baring Brass Knuckles

While patrolling the Gowanus housing development, housing officers observed a male in possession of brass knuckles on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11 p.m., cops said. Officers arrested Ronald Maxwell, 18, for the offense.
