Police Blotter: Teen Struck with Belt Buckle and Robbed; Plus, Another Subway iPhone Swipe

Teen Struck With Belt Buckle and Robbed of Belongings

A young man was pummeled then robbed last week, according to a police report. The 17-year-old was walking along Henry St. between 3rd and 4th Place on August 7 at approximately 3:30 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown individual, who punched him in the face and body.

The attacker removed personal property from the victim, including a velour bag containing a belt, ID card, metro card, and $50 cash. The assailant then struck the young man in the head with a belt buckle, causing a laceration to victim’s head. A canvass of the immediate area was conducted upon alerting the authorities. Officer Correa from PSA1 arrested a male, 18, who was positively identified. The victim was taken to . 

Woman's iPhone Snatched in the Underground

While standing on the northbound platform at the Carroll Street station, a woman was robbed of her iPhone, said police. On August 12 at 1:50 p.m. the 24-year-old female was approached by an unknown individual who grabbed her iPhone 4 ($500) and pushed her to the ground, then fled to parts unknown. The victim suffered a small cut to her left knee and leg. Her attacker is decribed as a male with dark skin and a bald head, who was wearing blue jeans, white sneakers, and a blue t-shirt.

Man Bites Woman, Takes Cell Phone

A woman was bit then robbed of her cell phone on Bush Street between Dwight and Columbia Streets in the confines of public housing on August 7 at 2 p.m. said police. The victim, 22, told authorities that an acquaintance of hers bit her then forcibly removed her cell phone ($70) from her hand. No arrests have been made.

Douglas St. Home Ransacked

A Douglas Street home located between Hoyt and Bond Streets was the victim of a burglary last week, said police. At some point between August 8 at 8:30 a.m. and August 9 at 6:15 p.m. an unknown individual entered the property and stole multiple belongings. The victim, 33, states that she returned home and discovered the bedroom had been "ransacked" with property missing. The thief is believed to have gained access through the front window, because screen had been cut and a window was pulled down.

Electronics Go Missing During Construction

Multiple personal electronics went missing from a home located on Butler Street between Hoyt and Smith Streets on August 8. The victim, 33, told police that between 2:30 p.m. and 8:09 p.m. he had construction going on at his house. When he returned home, he discovered his gate door was open and the following property was missing: two MacBook computers ($2599), a Nintendo Wii game console ($250), an Xbox ($299), a necklace ($120), $20 cash and assorted controllers and games ($300). No arrests have been made at this time.
