Rite Aid Hit Twice By Shoplifters; Thieves Arrested

A man was arrested for stealing items from Rite Aid on Monday, October 8 at 3:20 p.m. police said. The thief was observed by a security guard inside the drug store while he removed two bottles of Clear Eyes ($10) from the display, then existed the store. Mark Zolotoreva, 33, was subsequently arrested and charged with petty larceny.

Just a few days earlier on Thursday, October 4, another crook with sticky fingers and a sweet tooth was observed at approximately 12 p.m. inside the same Smith St. Rite Aid as she pocketed two bags of pistachios, two packages of Reese's and three Kit Kats ($20), then quickly exited the store. Deborah McCrea, 54, was arrested at 12:28 p.m. that day for shoplifting, according to police.

Scoundrel Plots Sleepover, Steals From Super Laundry Register

A burglary took place at Super Laundromat on Friday, October 5, between 10:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. the following day, police said. According to the report, an unknown individual entered the store, snuck down into the basement then waited there for workers to close the store. The trespasser remained in his hiding spot until employees had left the premises, then removed $600 from the register. The crook then fled through a rear door to an unknown location, police said. There have been no arrests at this time and the investigation is still ongoing. Police are searching for a male, with black hair and a medium complexion.

Friday P.M. Punch 'n' Run Leaves 13-Year-Old Scared for Safety

An assault took place at the intersection of Court and 1st Streets, cops said. On Friday, October 5 at 3:30 p.m., a young man, 13, was walking by himself when another indvidual ran up from behind and punched him in the back of the head with a closed fist. The attacker called the victim a freak and 'four eyes' before fleeing to parts unknown. The victim sustained minor swelling to his head. Police are searching for a male, 5 foot 8, roughly 150 lbs, with brown eyes, brown hair, and a medium complexion.

Car Disappears from Parking Spot on Bond

A car was stolen from the corner of Bond and Wyckoff Streets at some point between Sunday, September 30 at 7 p.m. and Friday, October 5 at 9:50 a.m., cops said. The vehicle is a grey 1996 Honda Accord, worth $2400. The victim is a female, 56.

Bike Lock Clipped; Cannondale Disappeared

An expensive bike vanished from a parking lot on Sackett Street between Hicks and Columbia Streets, cops said. The victim parked his Cannondale Synapse ($1500) in the garage in his building in the early evening. But upon returning for it, he found it was gone and the bike lock had been clipped. No suspects have been identified at this time, police said.

Couple Cuffed for Taking Tokes

A couple of pot smokers were busted at the corner of Butler and Nevins Streets on Sunday, October 7, police confirmed. At 2:05 a.m. arresting officers observed the pair inhaling marijuana in plain view, and promptly arrested a male, 37, and female, 33.
