Police Blotter: Pizza Delivery Guy Gets Jumped; Disappearing Laptops; More

This week's crime reports in Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens and Red Hook.

Teen Arrested in Attempted Robbery

The 76th Precinct Anti-Crime Team arrested a young man last week after he and an accomplice were observed trying to rob a 16-year-old girl, cops said. On Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 8:15 p.m. the victim was walking home from work along Huntington when two men began following her, then demanded her purse and cell phone. The duo tried to remove the woman’s purse forcefully, pushing her to the ground and dragging her. Upon witnessing this, the cops pursued the robbers and were able to catch and arrest one male, 16. Police are still looking for another male, 15, who fled the scene.

Another Graffit Artist Get Cuffed

An individual was arrested for graffiti, cops said. At the intersection of Douglass and Smith Streets, on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 3:30 a.m. a young male was observed by patrolling officers making graffiti. By gluing advertising posters to a wall without permission, the 24-year-old caused $250 in damages to the building and was subsequently arrested, cops said.

Disappearing Laptops at Newly Opened New Dawn Charter

1. A female employee, 26, reported four ASA notebook computers ($800 each) stolen from the New Dawn Charter School, located at 242 Hoyt St., cops said. After leaving the notebooks in a room, locked away on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m., she returned at 9 a.m. the following day to find all missing. The incident was reported on the Nov. 16.

2. A male employee, 37, reported that another computer went missing from the school on Wednesday, Nov. 14 between 11:45-1250 p.m. After leaving a MacBook  ($800) locked in a classroom, the individual retuned to find the door was open and laptop was taken. This incident was also reported on Nov. 16, cops said.

Pizza Delivery Guy Gets Jumped

A deliveryman was robbed last week while responding to an order, cops said. On Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 8:25 p.m. on Baltic St. between Hoyt and Bond Streets, a man making a food delivery was attacked by two strangers. The men punched him in the face, removed his cell phone ($200) and took a box of pizza ($12). The assailants are described as one male black, wearing a black jacket and black jeans, approximately 5 foot 10, and a male Hispanic, 25 years old, with a Ceasar haircut, approximately 5 foot 10. The victim, 26, was brought to Brooklyn Hospital to treat his injuries.
