Pot Smoker Gets Slapped With Misdemeanor

A 21-year-old man burning marijuana in public view was arrested at the corner of Baltic Street and Nevins Street on Wednesday, March 21 at approximately 12:25 a.m. when an officer from the 76 Precinct observed him, cops said. He has been charged with a B misdemeanor.

Young Boy Robbed in Broad Daylight

Beware: Daylight is not always a deterrant for criminals. On Wednesday, March 21 at 3 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was robbed at gunpoint on the corner of Court and Baltic Streets, cops said. The crook aimed a black and chrome firearm at the minor and took an iPod Touch worth $250. The suspect is described as male, approximately 18 years old, 5 foot 8 with dark skin.

Movie Car Business Struck By Crook

Picture Cars, Inc., was the victim of a burglary at their Huntington Street location on Thursday, March 22, at 2:30 p.m. An unknown person walked into the business, which loans out cars for films, and swiped a Lenovo IBM laptop computer valued at $800. The owner is a 50-year-old man, cops said. No arrests have been made at this time.

Good Samaritan Assaulted In Attempt To Break Up Fight

A 15-year-old girl trying to break up a fight between her friend and another young woman became the victim of assault on Baltic Street between Smith and Hoyt Streets, Monday, March 26 at 1 p.m. While trying to diffuse an already violent situation, she was punched and kicked multiple times by two girls, ages 16 and 17 respectively, cops said. The victim was left with cuts and swelling on the sides of her face. 

Commuter Beaten and Robbed En Route to Subway Station

While walking to the subway station a 35-year-old male was approached by two men from behind, who pushed him to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked his face. The pair of crooks then went through his pockets and removed the watch from his arm, leaving the victim with multiple lacerations and bruising in return. The robbery took place at the corner of Smith and President Streets on Saturday, March 31 at 10 a.m., cops said. The suspects—a Hispanic man, 17 years old, 6 foot and 270 pounds, wearing all black, and another male, approximately 16 years old, black, also wearing all black clothing—were seen running northbound on Smith Street. The item stolen was a Breil Watch with a black and silver band worth $195. 

Nearly $9K Worth of Valuables Lifted From Home on Luquer St.

A home on Luquer Street was the victim of a cat prowler sometime between Friday, March 30 at 1 p.m. and April 2 at 2 p.m., cops said. The victim filed a report with the 76 Precinct on Monday stating that unknown individuals had entered her home through the front left window, removing $4,600 in currency, a Toshiba laptop ($500), a hammer drill ($100), an electric drill ($60), a diamond and aquamarine ring ($500), three small loose diamonds ($500), and two pearl necklaces valued at $2,500. The 43-year-old victim said it appeared as though burglars left through the basement doors, which were open when she returned home.

Attempted Burglary Thwarted By Alert Resident

An attempted burglary on the 50th block of Douglass Street was interrupted when the prowler was apparantly scared off, cops said. A 28-year-old woman was watching TV in her bedroom on Monday, April 2, at 1:21 a.m. when she heard someone attempting to open a window downstairs. Upon inspection, the screen had been lifted slightly, cops said. No items were taken.
