Man Bites Cop While in Custody at LICH

A man being treated at Downstate LICH bit an officer of the 76th Precinct on his right forearm on Friday, September 21 at 3 p.m., said police. The offender was already in custody for another narcotics-related incident at the time. When the attending doctor asked the officer to help restrain him during treatment, the man bit him, causing pain and swelling. Wanda Dejesus, 40, was charged with assault on the spot.

Two Burglaries: One Steals Garbage Bags, Other Takes MacBooks

  • Four boxes of black heavy garbage bags ($150), two orange ladders ($300 each), assorted paint brushes and rollers ($50) and three black window guards ($120) were taken from an apartment on Baltic St. on Wednesday, September 5 between 6 p.m. and 12 p.m. the following day, cops said. According to the victim, 28, the crooks entered the location by breaking a lock on his cellar door.
  • Near the corner of Warren and Hoyt Streets, burglars broke into an apartment through the front window on Monday, September 24 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The crooks took two MacBook laptops ($1800) and fled through the front door. The victim is a female, 36.

Cyclist Arrested for Carrying Burglary Tools

A man was arrested in front of 193 Columbia Street, on Wednesday, September 12, at 1:40 p.m., police said. When officers observed the individual riding a bicycle on the sidewalk, cyclist Angel Perez, 32, was stopped and found in possession of burglar tools, including a box cutter, pliers, crobars, and more.

Sedan Stolen From Richards and Sullivan Sts.

A grey 1998 Plymouth Voyager ($2000) was discovered stolen on Friday, September 14 at 5 p.m. at the corner or Richards and Sullivan Streets. The owner is male, 49. The case is still under investigation, said police.

Hoyt Street Ninja Arrested for Possession of Nunchucks

Officers of the 76th Precicnt observed an individual with nunchucks in plain view outside on Hoyt Street between Douglass and Baltic Streets on Friday, September 14 at 1:29 a.m. Stephen Vincent, 24, was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
