Police Blotter: Graffiti Arrest Reveals Crack Cocaine, Heroin

Graffiti Arrest Reveals Large Quantities of Crack Cocaine, Heroin

On Thursday, April 4 at 6:55 p.m. a male was observed making graffiti with a black Sharpie marker at 58 Lorraine Street, writing the words "China Y Lico" on a nearby wall, cops said. Upon being searched by officers of the 76th Precinct, the tagger was found to possess a large quantity of heroin, crack cocaine and oxycodone. Eliezer Ledesma was subsequently arrested and charged with graffiti and possession of controlled substances.

Thieves Make Off With Mountain Bike

A Carroll Gardens man was the victim of a bike theft recently. The larceny took place at the intersection 1st Place and Henry Street on Thursday, March 28, cops said. From approximately 6:30 a.m. until 7 a.m. on April 1  a mountain bike was chained to front of the owner's house. He returned to find that the chain was cut and his bike had been removed. The thief stole one Trek Ex 2008 worth $1400, a Kryptonite lock worth $200, a speedometer worth $50 and a back rack worth $100. The investigation is ongoing, cops said.

Woman Leaves Bar, Loses Cell Phone

A woman filed a complaint the morning after leaving Abilene Bar & Restaurant, located at 442 Court Street. On Saturday, March 6 between 12 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. the victim told police she left her phone on a table and walked out of the bar. Upon inquiry, it was no longer at the establishment. The victim is a female, 37. Stolen was a Samsung Galaxy worth $400.

Shoplifter Arrested at Rite Aid

A shoplifter was arrested at 182 Smith Street once again, cops said. On Saturday, April 6 at 11:47 a.m. a man was observed removing objects and putting them in pockets and a white plastic bag. The thief allegedly tried to take off with $100 worth of dental supplies, cops said. Juan Carlos Vazquez was immediately arrested on site. 

Arrest Made For January Theft of iPhone

Following a complaint made on January 28 for a robbery at the intersection of West 9th and Smith at 5 p.m., a man was arrested last week, cops said. On Thursday, April 4 at 8 p.m., Tyquan Curwen, 20, was charged with forcibly removing a white iPhone 5 worth $500 from the victim three months ago.

Woman Runs Out For Cigarettes, Returns To Find TV Stolen

A Columbia Street woman reported her plasma television stolen on Thursday, April 4, police said. According to her complaint, the victim left her home from 5:45 p.m. through 6:15 p.m. to get a pack of cigarettes and left her residence unlocked while she was at the store. During that time, an unknown person entered the home and took off with her 42-inch plasma TV ($900). The victim is a female, 56.
