A Chain of Criminal Acts

On March 14, at 8:15 p.m. a 54-year-old woman walking at the corner of Smith Street and Hamilton Avenue was punched in the face by a 52-year-old female assailant, causing bruising to her eye and jaw. While the victim was stunned, the crook grabbed a gold chain from her neck worth $1500 and returned to her vehicle. The victim attempted to follow her attacker to retrieve the necklace but backed off when the villain, who carried a stick, said, “I’m going to kill you.” The suspect then took off in a white van. Six days later, on March 20 at approximately 8:12 p.m., the victim spotted her assailant in the van and alerted officers at the 76 Precinct. After being positively identified, the woman was arrested and charged with a strongarm robbery.
