Police Blotter: Drug User Steals Tylenol From Rite Aid

Plus, a deli thief; a Nelson St. assault; robberies and more in Carroll Gardens

Drug User Steals Tylenol From Rite Aid

Carroll Gardens' Rite Aid on Smith Street—which has been the target of several thieves in recent weeks—was hit again on Monday, October 22 at 1:20 p.m. when a man entered the a store and attempted to take three 100-count bottle containers of Tylenol ($27) without paying for them. Upon being arrested, the thief was also found in posesssion of a hypodermic needle with heroin residue in his right coat pocket, as well as a crack pipe and a knife in the pocket of his jeans. Luciano Quinones, 35, was arrested for stealing and charged with criminal posession of a weapon, posession of stolen property and petty larceny.

Man Assaulted on Nelson Street

While walking along Nelson Street between Clinton Street and Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, October 21 at 5 a.m. a 53-year-old man was apporached by a male who struck him in the face with a closed fist, causing the left eye to become swollen and painful. Jeremiah Dinkins, 22, was subsequently arrested for the assault.

Teen Robbed By Schoolmate and Unknown Accomplice

An elaborate robbery was constructed on the corner of Baltic and Smith Streets in front of the Met Food supermarket, on Saturday, October 20 at 9:15 p.m. While walking on Smith Street, a young man was asked by a female he knew from school to walk her to Carroll Park. After she had engaged the victim, the girl then called over male accomplice, who displayed a black firearm. "Hey budda, what’s up?" said the assailant, who then attempted to grab the victim’s jacket. The victim struggled free and ran but told police that his sneakers fell out of his bag. The victim believes his shoes were taken by pair of thieves, police said. The 76th Precinct is looking for a female, Hispanic, 5 foot 4, with black hair in a ponytail, age 14. Her acomplice is described as male, black, of unknown age, and approximately 6 foot. The sneakers are Nike Air Foamposite valued at $225.

Dream Gourmet Deli Struck by Thief

On Friday, October 19 at 8:18 p.m. the Dreams Gourmet Deli was the victim of a grab and run. An unknown individual allgedly removed property from the rear of the store, then ran out without paying. But the crook was captured on video surveillance. Police are searcing for a male, white, 210 lbs, wearing blue jeans, a black sweater vest, and white sneakers. The thief took four Tide liquid detergents worth $50.

Woman Robbed En Route To Pick Up Kids

On Friday, October 19 at 6:55 p.m. while walking to pick up her children, a woman, 27, was robbed at the intersection of Hicks and Luquer Streets, police said. The assailant allegedly came from behind, tapped the victim on her shoulder, then asked for her purse. When she reached inside to remove currency to give the crook, he pulled out a firearm and demanded the pocket book. Police are looking for a male, black, 20 years olf, 5 foot 9, weighing 130 lbs. He was wearing black jeans and a black top at the time of the incident. Items stolen include $15 cash a social security card, hospital cards, a Bank of America debit card, a food stamp card, rosary beads, keys, and wallet.

Suspect Arrested for Wielding Razor in Public

A man was arrested at the corner of Mill Street and Hicks Street on Friday, October 19 at 11 p.m. for exhibiting a razor in public. Jaahday Oliderre, 21, has previously been arrested for unlawful posession of a gun and had an open warrant.

Apple Products Stolen From Woman's Apartment Post Altercation

A woman was the victim of theft after an altercation inside a home at the corner of Union and Hoyt Streets, according to police. On Wednesday, October 17, between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. the victim, 37, argued and was assaulted by the alleged thief. They pair had been consuming wine and the victim then asked the man to leave her apartment. Afterward, she told police she witnessed the individual leaving with her iPhone 4S ($400) and iPad ($900). She did not contact police until 11:36 a.m. next day, because she was frantic and didn’t have her phone, said cops. The incident is still under investigation. Police describe the alleged thief as a 29-year-old male, black, 6 foot, with brown eyes and bald.
