Police Blotter: Assaults, Break-ins, Burglaries and Missing Bikes

The following arrest information was supplied by the 76th Precinct. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two Men Rob 20-something of iPhone and Headphones.

At 8:55 p.m. on Friday, March 12 a robbery took place along the 300 block of President Street in Carroll Gardens, cops said. Two unknown individuals approached a man and asked him to hand over these listed items: An Apple iPhone ($250) and Beatz By Dr. Dre headphones ($350). One allegedly said, "Just give him the stuff, he’s crazy," according to police reports. When the victim declined, an assailant pulled out a knife and put it to his throat, forcing him to give up the items. The suspect then fled to Hoyt Street heading toward Gowanus. The victim is a male, 18. There were two perpetrators: one, male, black, with an afro and a red stocking cap and a second male, black, who has short hair with blond coloring at the ends and dark skin, cops said.

Motorcycle Stolen from Sackett Street.

A motorcycle went missing along the 100 block of Sackett Street, according to cops. Reports state that the owner parked his motorbike in his driveway on Thurs, March 15 at 10 a.m. but when he returned to it at 10:30 a.m., he found it missing. The motorcycle was an orange 2007 KTM 990V worth $1,700. The victim is male, 42.

Woman Robbed of Purse in Carroll Street Station

Another woman was robbed at the corner of Smith and President Streets, said cops. According to reports, on Friday, March 23 at 7:10 a.m., the victim was paying for her Metrocard when an individual allegedly snatched her purse and fled eastbound on President Street. The victim flagged down a cop immediately and provided a description. The police unit canvassed the area, cops said, and at 7:17 p.m. officers of the 76 Precinct arrested Richard Colon, 44. He was charged with grand larceny and criminal possesion of stolen property. The victim is a female, 27.

Cookie Monster Strikes Momofuku Milk Bar

A thief snuck inside Momofuku Milk Bar, on Sunday, March 24, at 4:15 a.m, according to cops. It was at that time that officers of the 76 Precinct responded to an alarm at the location, cops said. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers discovered the front door of the business was not secured and damage had been done to a lock. Perpetrators made off with very little, however. According to reports, the crooks took the entire cash drawer but it had no money in it.

Unattended Purse Becomes Bait for Trader Joe's Crook

In the latest of shopifting crimes at 130 Court Street, a 43-year-old woman reported her purse stolen from Trader Joe's on Saturday, March 23 at 2:20 p.m. According to the report filed at the 76 Precinct, after leaving her purse unattended while shopping, the victim returned to her cart to find it missing along with a wallet ($100), a checkbook, keys, reading glasses ($10), three credit cards, a handbag ($200) and $200 in cash. 

Woman Assaulted Along Butler Street.

Along the 40th block of Butler Street on Wednesday, March 13, a report was filed at 5:20 p.m. when an unknown individual struck a woman in the face, and kicked her in both legs. The victim is female, 36. The crook is described as a male, white, 42, with long curly grey hair.

Bicycle Gone Missing

On Friday, March 22 at 6 p.m.  at the 20th block of 2nd Street, a bike was removed from a yard, cops said. It was a brown Raleigh with a childseat on the back worth $759.
