Police Blotter: Bagel Cafe Break-In; Grand Larceny on Bond; and More

Grand Larceny on Bond and Third Streets

A woman was he victim of a robbery over the weekend, police said. While walking home along Third Street on Sunday, July 1 at 10:00 p.m., the 37-year-old female was approached from behind by an unknown male who ripped her bag from her shoulder then fled in unknown direction, July 1. The incident was reported the following Monday, July 2 at 1:30 p.m. The crook took a light blue wallet ($150), an iPhone ($200), a bag ($30), Banana Republic eyeglasses ($300) Marc Jacobs sunglasses ($100), and two shirts, police said. The victim was unable to get a good look at her assailant.

Burglary at South Brooklyn Bagel Café

A burglary took place at 75 Hamilton Avenue sometime between Saturday, June 30, at 3:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, according to cops. When an employee opened the store, he immediately noticed that a TV ($120) was missing from the front, and that the rear door was ajar. In addition, $120 in cash was removed from register and other various items were found missing, police said. No suspects are known at this time.

Woman Injured in Violent Mugging

A 19-year-old woman was the victim of a violent mugging that occurred on Fourth Place between Henry and Clinton Streets last week, police said. On Thursday, June 28 at 12:00 a.m. the victim stated she'd been walking up the street when two unknown males approached her. The pair threw her to the ground, causing injuries to her left hand and side of her face, then removed her purse. Items stolen included the woman's Louis Vuitton purse ($1,000), her passport, an iPhone and $1000 in cash. The suspects were described as both being Hispanic, approximately 6 feet tall with wavy hair. One looked to be 19 and the other 25. 

Team of Four Brandish Firearm and Demand Money

There was a robbery along Butler Street between Hoy and Smith Streets, on Sunday, June 24, said police. At approximately 10:30 p.m. four male blacks approached a female, 30, and displayed a firearm, demanding her iPhone and money. The victim handed over $130 in US currency and an iPhone. She could not offer much of a description of the suspects, police said.  

Man Arrested for Wielding Knife on the Street

At the corner of Court and Nelson Streets on Thursday, June 28, officers arrested a man wielding a knife in broad daylight, said cops. At 11 a.m. officers observed Paul Barnes with knife in public view. Upon being searched, Barnes, 43, also had unlawful possession of marijuana on him. He was arrested at 11:16 a.m.
