Police Blotter: 8 Juveniles Arrested for Robbery

Plus, other assaults and misdeeds in the 76 Precinct.

8 Juveniles Arrested for Robbery

Eight juvenile males were arrested for robbery on Dec. 27, according to police reports. At approximately 10:25 p.m. a man, 36, was traveling just near 88 2nd Place, when he was surrounded by a group of teenagers and threatened, while they tried to remove his bike. The victim immediately called 911. When officers of the 76 Precinct responded, they canvassed the area and found the group of juveniles. The bicycle was valued at $500.

Assault on School Grounds

An assault was reported at 347 Baltic on Dec. 19 at 12:30 p.m., after a teen male refused to clear the hallway and go to class. The student, 17, then allegedly bit the victim on the index finger. The victim is a male, 36. The teen was arrested later that afternoon.

Woman Assaulted by Two Men 

On Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 3:50 p.m., an area woman was walking home when two male blacks approached her, attempted to rob her and, unable to grab any of her belongings, knocked her down before running away to Rapelye Street. The victim is a female, 17. The assailants are described as one male, black, 5 foot 8, and 150 lbs., and another male black, 17 years old, 5 foot 8, and roughly 150 lbs. 

Man Arrested for Assault and Resisting Arrest

Officers responded to a call regarding a dispute and assault on Wednesday, Jan 2 at 6 p.m. along the 200 block of Hoyt St., cops said. The victim claims he was punched in the face with a closed fist but did not go to the hospital to have his injuries treated. Evander Moore, 19, was arrested on the scene and charged with assault and resisting arrest at 6:18 p.m.

Two Men Attempt To Rob Woman

Two men attempted to rob a woman at the intersection of Clinton and Baltic Streets, according to police. On Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 5:45p.m. the victim was walking when two male blacks, approximately 16 years old, attempted to remove her iPhone, stating, “Gimme your sh**.” When she resisted, the pair fled on foot toward Hicks Street. The victim is a female, 23.

Teen Arrested at New Dawn High School

A teen was arrested at New Dawn High School on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 2:30 p.m. after he was found to be in possession of stolen property.  Items included four laptops ($150 each) and one charger. Jonathan Perez, 17, was arrested for the crime, cops said.

Missing BMW

A woman, 41, reported that between Friday, Jan. 4 at 2 a.m. and 6:45 a.m., her car parked at the corner of Nevins and Baltic was stolen. The vehicle was a 2004 White BMW 745I 4-door sedan, worth $16,000. The case is still undergoing investigation, cops said.

Honda Disappears

A parked car was stolen outside of 349 Union St., between Sunday, Jan. 6 at 10 p.m. through the following day. The missing mobile is described as a 1990 Honda Accord, 2-door sedan, and grey in color. It is worth $1200, cops said.

Thieves Leave Trail of Breadcrumbs at Union Market

Union Market, located at 288 Court Street, was the victim of thieves last week, cops reported. Between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, an unknown individual removed unattended property left in front of the location by a delivery company. The crooks stole five boxes of bread ($300), and one bag of bread ($100).

Christ Statue Stolen from Holiday Crèche 

At some point between Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m. through 4 a.m. on Jan. 3, unknown individuals removed property from in front of the Sacred Heart-St. Stephens Church, located at 125 Summit Street. The reporter is a male, 62, who says the missing item is a “baby Jesus statue from the nativity scene” valued at $150. Police say the item has not been found and they have no leads as yet.
