Purse Snatching at Trader Joe's

An 89-year-old woman was reaching for some cherries at and when she looked back at her cart her purse was gone, cops said. The thief made off with $90, an AARP and a Medicaid card, various credit cards and a senior citizens MetroCard.
The incident took place on June 28 around 11:30 a.m.

Teens Jump Another Teen near Carroll Park
A 15-year-old male was assaulted by three male teenagers of a similar age on July 4 around 9:30 p.m., cops said. The victim was punched and kicked in the face, causing swelling. He was taken to Lutheran Medical Center.
Woman Thinks Housesitter Stole Her Jewelry
A 42-year-old female went out of town on business, entrusting her apartment on Carroll Street near Clinton Street to a housesitter, cops said. When she returned on June 30, an opal and diamond pendant, worth $900, and an opal and diamond ring, worth $1,200, were missing from her bedroom dresser. She can't prove who took the jewelry, cops said, but there were no signs of forced entry.
Truck Damaged, 50 CD's Stolen
A white Ford truck was broken into on Huntington Street near Henry Street on June 27 around 2:40 a.m., cops said. The driver returned to his car to find the rear driver's side window broken and various items missing, including a cell phone, $1,000, credit cards, medications and 50 CDs.
Domestic Violence Dispute
After a verbal dispute, a 17-year-old male struck the left hand of a 41-year-old woman with a stick, cops said. The male was arrested and charged with assault on June 28 just before 6 a.m. on Baltic Street near Hoyt Street. The woman was the mother of the man's girlfriend and the grandmother to his child.
Computer Equipment Stolen
A 36-year-old male returned to his Atlantic Avenue near Henry Street apartment on June 29 around 6 p.m. to find his third floor screen window unlocked and his Dell computer, Apple computer and iPod missing, cops said.
