New Jersey Man Killed in Flatbush Avenue Motorcycle Crash

The accident took place near the bottom of the Manhattan Bridge and Tillary St.

A motor vehicle accident left a New Jersey motorcycle driver dead and two others injured in Brooklyn on Monday night, according to police.

At approximately 8:09 p.m., officers of the 84th Precinct responded to a call at the intersection of the Flatbush Avenue Extension of the Manhattan Bridge and Tillary Street, cops said.

Upon arriving at the scene, police observed that a 2007 Ford Edge, driven by a 31-year-old woman, had been traveling northbound on Flatbush Avenue while "attempting to make a left turn onto Tillary Street when she was struck on the front passenger side by a 2006 Harley Davidson Motorcycle," cops reported. The motorcycle, operated by a male, 35, was traveling southbound on Flatbush Avenue at the intersection.

Emergency medical services immediately responded to the scene, transporting three individuals to Brooklyn Hospital. Two persons riding in the Ford Edge, including the driver and a female passenger, were both reported to be in stable condition with minor injuries. The driver of the Harley Davidson arrived at the hospital with severe body trauma, however, and was pronounced DOA.

The victim has been identified as Rashid Solis of New Jersey, cops said.
