More Than $6,000 Stolen From Truck on Union Street

The 76 Precinct reported a burglary from inside of a broken down Home Bay Trading Corp. vehicle.


A burglary took place inside of a commercial vehicle that broke down along Union Street on Friday, March 29 between 5:50 p.m. and 6 p.m. and reported on April 3, according to police reports.

On March 29, the driver of the vehicle called stating his truck broke down on Union Street and that cash and checks were placed inside of the vehicle safe.

The vehicle was then picked up and taken to the Bronx for repairs. Upon receipt of the truck, however, the owner discovered that cash and checks had both gone missing from the safe.

Items stolen from the truck included $2,675 in cash, a check for $1520 and two other checks made out to Castle Hill Pharmacy totaling $2,093. The complainant is a male, 37. The victim has been reported as Home Bay Trading Corporation, a general merchandise distributor based out of Bushwick.
