More Than $18K Stolen From Red Hook Scooter Shop

The store reported an illegal wire transfer from one of their accounts last week


An illegal wire transfer removed a little more than $18,000 from an account linked to a Red Hook scooter shop last week, according to police.

Scooter Bottega, a boutique specializing in modern and vintage scooters located at 65 Union St, was the victim of an unwanted transfer at some point between Monday, Nov. 19 at 8 a.m. through 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, an employee told officers of the 76 Precinct.

The man who reported the incident, 43, stated that the wire transferred $18,304 from a Scooter Bottega bank account to an another unknown account.

No arrests have been made at this time and an investigation into the incident is considered ongoing.
