UPDATE: Traffic Resumes on Brooklyn Bridge After Crane Accident
Shutdown occurs after span reportedly hit by crane pulled by tugboat Tuesday evening.
Update, 12:30 a.m., March 14: Traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge has resumed hours after a crane clipped the scaffolding underneath the nearly 200-year-old span. There were no injuries and officials say the bridge is safe to cross, according to a NY1 report.

Officials shut the Manhattan-bound side of the Brooklyn Bridge to vehicular traffic Tuesday evening, according to the city Office of Emergency Management (OEM).
