Man Hit by Vehicle at Atlantic Avenue and Court Street

The man was transported Long Island College Hospital with knee injuries Wednesday, police say.

A man was hit by a vehicle at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Court Street Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The man was struck at approximately 4 p.m. and was taken to Long Island College Hospital with knee injuries, police said. No criminality is suspected.

Drivers and pedestrians alike should be sure to be aware of their surroundings at busy intersections. Especially with the cold weather coming, outdoor conditions will become increasingly difficult to navigate.

Is this actually considered reporting? How about some analysis on the corner? The DOT has installed a protected leading left there, which is a disaster, almost as bad as the protected trailing left on Joralemon and Boerum, which is another death waiting to happen. Atlantic Avenue functions as a speedway for out of town drivers getting from the bridges to the highway. Increased pedestrian traffic has created a need for safety improvements on this corner. How about addressing some of those points?
