Man Shot in Boerum Hill, Treated at LICH for Leg Wound

The 76 Pct responded to a 911 call early Saturday that a man had been shot on Warren St.


A 35-year-old Boerum Hill man was shot in the leg after an unknown assailant opened fire on him at the corner of Warren and Hoyt Streets on Saturday, Sept. 22 around 2 a.m., according to police. 

After receiving a 911 call nearly one hour later from a witness, the 76th Precinct responded to the scene though it is technically within the boundaries of the 84th.

The victim, who lives nearby in the Gowanus Houses, was then taken to Downstate LICH to be treated for his injury. He later told police that he was standing outside of a bodega when an unknown man approached him and fired two shots, striking him once in the right leg.

The gunman, described as being male, black and 6 foot, then fled in an unknown direction, the victim told police. Cops were able to recover two 9mm shell casings. 

The case is still undergoing investigation.
